Overview of the Home Master TMAFC-ERP Artesian
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP combines the perfect balance of useful benefits, popular features, and value in one package.
If you just want healthier water from a top-rated DIY reverse osmosis system without hours of research, then this is one you want.
Let’s start with what makes it special.
There are two big features that set the Home Master TMAFC-ERP apart from other mid-range systems and makes it our top reverse osmosis system:
First of all, the TMACF-ERP is a great alkaline water filter. Water that has been purified by reverse osmosis can have a bland taste. This is because it is slightly acidic and all of the dissolved minerals that provide flavor have been removed. After the water has been purified through the Home Master TMAFC-ERP RO membrane, it passes through a remineralization filter twice. This adds safe minerals back into the water and raises the pH to be more alkaline. The result is a fresher tasting mineral water that many people prefer.
In addition, it comes standard with a permeate pump, which is a non-electric device that increases the water pressure before it enters the filters. This reduces water waste up to 80 percent and increases water production up to 50 percent. Both of these are important if you are on city water or care about efficiency. Compared to the average of 2-3 gallons wasted per filtered gallon produced across our reviewed systems, the Home Master TMAFC-ERP only wastes 1 gallon.
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP has 7 stages and is rated for about 75 gallons of purified water per day. It comes with both an RO faucet and pressurized storage tank.

Home Master TMAFC-ERP System Design
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP system has a modular filter design that makes changing filter elements easier. Each of the filters is contained in its own housing, which is changed out with the filter. This solves a problem that can occur in systems that keep the same housing since some of the debris that had been removed by the filter can remain in the housing. This reduces the life of the filter and could damage the housing.
There is also no need for any tools when replacing the filters – you simply pull the old filter out and push the new filter in. Filter change instructions, which should be carried out at least annually, are easy to follow.
Water Efficiency
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP is one of the most efficient systems you can find as it creates only about 1 gallon of waste water for every gallon of pure water produced (1:1 ratio).
This amount of water waste can vary depending on the pressure of the water entering the system. The higher the input pressure, the less water wasted. The waste is created because RO systems use pre-filtered water to clean the filter membranes.
However, the permeate pump included with this system increases the pressure and helps to both reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Remineralization
The water is first purified by the TMAFC-ERP RO membrane and other stages. After this, it passes through a remineralization filter twice: once on its way to storage and again before reaching your faucet.
The Home Master Patented Full Contact® process of re-mineralizing reduces tank degradation while also allowing for longer contact with the reminerilization media during the first pass at low pressure into the pressurized storage tank. As the water flows from the storage tank to the faucet, it passes through the remineraliztion filter a second time to add extra minerals.
Fast Flow Technology
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP includes high flow features to increase the fill rate at the faucet called the Fast Flow RO kit.
This kit is included and uses larger fittings and tubing along with the permeate pump to provide faster output. The result is a fill rate of 8oz about 5 seconds – which is really fast compared to competing systems.

Ease of Installation
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP system is designed to be installed by anyone with rudimentary DIY skills. A professional plumber is not needed to install this kit.
The only potentially difficult part of the whole installation is drilling a hole in the sink top for the pure water faucet. This may not be necessary if a hole already exists for a hand sprayer, soap dispenser, or is available with a blank cover.
The full installation instructions and owner’s manual covers how to connect the feed pipes and drainage pipes over 7 pages and Home Master has made a series of 6 videos that show an installation. For many, it is easier to watch these videos before attempting the installation. It is well worth spending the time to watch the videos, as they clarify some the of instructions in the manual.
- Video 1 – Introduction
- Video 2 – Faucet installation
- Video 3 – Fitting the feed water adaptor
- Video 4 – Fitting the drain saddle
The installation of the permeate pump is not included in the video instructions, so check out section 3a of the instruction manual for details.
- Video 5 – Mounting the RO unit
Take note of the need to have enough room to remove the unit for annual maintenance.
- Video 6 – Final assembly and starting the unit up
